FCS GMB Fins
The FCS GMB fins are based off of San Clemente shaper Matt Biolos’ favorite fin templates. Biolos’ started Lost Surfboards in the 90's and built it from the ground up to one of the most recognized surfboard brands in the industry to date.
Refined from feedback from the top Lost team riders, the FCS GMB fin set is built for projection and maneuverability.
How Much Will This Fin Set Cost You?
This glass flex model of the GMB fins retails for US $40.99. Below are the current prices of this fin set at a variety of online stores and surf shops.
Design and Feel
The FCS GMB fins are a large thruster fin set. All 3 fins are the same size and have a base of 4.41” (112mm) and a depth of 4.74” (120mm) with a total surface area of 15.26”2 (9847mm2).
The foil on the FCS GMB fins is also “flat”.
They are built using the Glass Flex core and this construction technology makes them feel almost identical to traditional fiberglass fins with a stiff base with nice tip flex and remarkable flex memory. However their overall fin flex is quite stiff which gives these FCS fins their characteristic projection and maneuverability.
Wave Conditions
The GMB fins are a fast fin set for all types of surf conditons and are often sold with Lost surfboard models equipped with FCS fin plugs. Since these are a large fin set they can also be used in big surf by medium weight surfers. This will provide you with the extra hold you will need while not sacraficing speed.
The Look
Based around the Lost/Mayhem image the FCS GMBs show off the Lost/Mayhem Skull in black on the outside face of the side fins. This lies on a clear fiberglass background.
At the rear of the base of the fins is a slightly raised FCS logo.
Surfer Specifications
Based around the Lost/Mayhem image the FCS GMB fins are specifically made for surfers in the large weight category making them ideal if you are a surfer weighing between 165 to 200 lbs (75kg - 90kg).
